Officer Smith began his law enforcement career in 1986 as an auxiliary police officer for the City of Rockford.  He continued to serve that unit until it was disbanded in 1992 at which time he became a part time police officer for the Rockford Park District.  He joined Winnebago PD in 2001 as a part time officer and was hired as full time in 2002.  Officer Smith has also been serving the Rockford MetroCentre police department since 1991.

Officer Smith is always busy.  If he isn't working either of his police jobs, he is working hard on his yard or a carpentry project.  He also enjoys going for motorcycle rides with his friends.
